Meet the Team

Dr. Melissa Franklin

Complex and Chronic Pain Specialist

Dr. Melissa Franklin is a Licensed and Board Certified Acupuncturist. and Doctor of Chinese Herbal Medicine. She has many years of real world experience diagnosing and treating patients in several clinical settings. Prior to obtaining her medical degree Dr. Franklin obtained her Masters Degree in Microbiology and Molecular Immunology from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center doing biomedical research on a gene linked to breast cancer. Dr Franklin’s background gives her the unique ability to integrate Eastern and Western modalities to ensure her patients receive the highest standard of care.

She holds Board Certification by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Aside from her busy private practice, she was the owner/director of the Art of Strength Training Center in Minneapolis Minnesota for 10 years where she was responsible for diagnosing and treating complex pain disorders through movement that had not responded to conventional treatments or surgeries.

Through this working relationship and years of postgraduate work in Functional Movement, Orthopedics, Sports Acupuncture and Pain Management, Dr. Franklin has condensed decades of real-life experience that she is passionate about sharing with her patients and other healthcare providers.

​

Dr. Franklin believes that the patient is an integral part of the healing process so often prescribes home exercise programs as part of the overall treatment plan.  

​

Having roots in Alpine since 1973, Melissa has been hiking the trails around Star Valley and paddling the Palisades for as long as she can remember. She is happy to be here with family living her best life in Wyoming!

Office Manager and Clinical Liaison

Lisa Crocker

At Teton AIM, Lisa is responsible for managing patient schedules, overseeing billing and coding processes, and maintaining accurate medical records. Her focus on ensuring smooth patient flow and efficient office operations allows her to provide essential support to both patients and staff.

 

With over 15 years of experience in administrative roles within the healthcare sector, Lisa specializes in patient relations and office management. She enjoys interacting with patients and witnessing the positive impact of their treatments, helping them reclaim their lives without pain or reliance on medications.

 

Outside of work, Lisa has a passion for travel, particularly to historically rich destinations, with Italy topping her list of dream vacations.

Clinical Liaison and Patient Care Coordinator

Shannon Burke

Shannon works alongside Dr. Melissa to ensure patients remain comfortable, happy, and on their healing journey. In her role, she assists with clinical modalities under Dr. Melissa's guidance.

With over six years of experience as an EMT and comprehensive training from Healing Mountain Massage School, Shannon brings extensive medical expertise to her position. Her connection to the medical community spans back to her early years.

 

Shannon finds deep satisfaction in witnessing patients' progress, no matter how incremental, and seeing them discover the positive healing properties available at the clinic. Beyond her clinical work, she maintains an interesting dual career as a Wyoming Wine and Spirit Broker.

 

When not at the clinic, Shannon embraces the valley's outdoor lifestyle, enjoying paddle boarding and hiking during summer months, and playing in the snow during winters with her husband and dog in their beautiful mountain home.

Patient Care Coordinator

Karyn-Ann Atkins

As a Patient Care Coordinator, Karyn ensures patients feel welcome, comfortable, and supported throughout their visit by guiding them to their rooms and addressing their needs. She assists Dr. Franklin during treatments, contributing to a seamless and compassionate care experience.


Karyn's background is diverse, spanning from culinary arts to wellness. After attending culinary school in Seattle, she spent years cooking in the city before settling in Alpine, 16 years ago. She owned and operated Delish Donuts, a small donut and coffee shop, for 10 years and has been teaching yoga in the valley for the past five years.
 

Karyn enjoys expressing creativity through movement, music, and cooking nourishing foods. Her dream is to create yoga retreats that bring these passions together in a safe and peaceful environment, helping others find balance and well-being.

Veterans Affairs Liaison

Micheal Tillotson
Rear Admiral, U.S. Navy (Ret.)

Mike serves as the Veterans Affairs Liaison at Teton Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine, where he establishes partnerships with the VA to extend services to the veteran population. His role focuses on guiding veterans to appropriate resources, ensuring they receive the care and support they deserve.

​

His military career spans 33 years of Active Duty in the United States Navy. As an Explosive Ordnance Disposal specialist, qualified Navy Freefall parachutist, and Navy Diver, Mike served at various ships and duty stations worldwide.

​

Mike loves the opportunity to offer veterans
non-pharmaceutical and non-surgical solutions for medical and physical conditions. He appreciates Dr. Franklin's work in bringing these alternative treatment options to Lincoln, Teton, and Sublette counties, as well as Swan Valley, ID.
